Our Legacy & Mission
Established in 1933 as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of Mumbai, the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) has evolved into a globally recognized center of excellence. ICT is dedicated to providing high-quality education, cutting-edge research, and innovation in chemical technology and allied fields.
Located in the heart of Mumbai, Maharashtra, ICT boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, experienced faculty, and strong industry linkages. Our mission is to foster scientific temper, promote interdisciplinary research, and develop skilled professionals who contribute to societal and industrial growth.
With over 1,500 students and 150 faculty members, ICT offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, and materials science. Our research portfolio includes collaborations with leading international institutions and industries.
The institute has been granted the status of "Institute of National Importance" by an Act of Parliament, underscoring its pivotal role in India's educational and research landscape. We are committed to sustainable development and green chemistry initiatives.
